Hurricane Ian - Florida, Fall 2022
In the Fall of 2022, WEFM was contacted to respond to the complete destruction throughout Florida that was named Hurricane Ian. Within days, we were on site. We were tasked with locating and identifying and mapping mold and moist building materials throughout several different large buildings. This building, in particular, was personally of high importance to us. This was a retirement community where some people were already compromised in their health. We scoured the building, consisting of hundreds of individual apartments and large common areas. AFTER another company had given the all clear we located several more areas of concern. Properties of this size can be daunting for some inspectors. I think where we shine is in our attention to detail and willingness to go where others don't know to go. Our understanding of building construction and years of experience have taught us exactly where to look. When we were finished, this property passed all clearance sampling.
This was one of several properties we were hired to oversee. We spent three weeks travelling all over Florida, working out of our base camp (in our camper) near the middle of the state. WEFM has the equipment, knowledge and stubbornness to get the job done, no matter the size.
