What is it?
Mold is a type of fungus that consists of small organisms found almost everywhere. They can be black, white, orange, green, or purple. Molds thrive on moisture and reproduce by means of tiny, lightweight spores that travel through the air. You’re exposed to mold every day.
Where does it grow?
Mold is a part of life, and is present in many areas of our homes and workspaces. Mold needs moisture to grow so you're most likely to see mold in damp places such as bathrooms, kitchens, laundry rooms, basements, and crawl spaces.
The simplest of things such as a small roof leak, leaky pipe or inadequate air flow can contribute to mold growth. If you see or suspect you have mold growth in your home or business, get an inspection to ensure the proper steps are taken for removal and clean up. Mold can cause serious health issues and using a little bleach will only clean the surface area. Most times if it's visible on the surface there is more in the underlying layers.
